Every pupil has someone in their corner
Senior School Wellbeing
Every pupil is known, supported and cared for, with the right help always close at hand.
three strands
Our Wellbeing approach
The three strands of our Wellbeing approach are:
PARTICIPATION
EDUCATION
SUPPORT
Taking part, leading and giving back support identity and belonging. That is why our pupils enjoy fundraising, seeing their initiatives brought to life at school through their leadership roles and taking part in the House Competition.
We educate young people about how to manage uncertainty and make wise decisions about healthy relationships, careers, health and wellbeing. This takes place in lessons across the curriculum but our bespoke REFLECTIONS curriculum supports our Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE).
When young people need a little bit more support they benefit from a raft of opportunities from peer mentoring, inclusive support groups including Young Carers and access to expert counsellors.

Care, Belonging & Community
Form tutors and the House system
Every pupil belongs to a form group with a Form Tutor who is their daily pastoral anchor, advocate and connection between school and home. The House system creates an additional layer of community and belonging across year groups.
There When it Matters
Pastoral support
Our Heads of Year, Deputy Head Pastoral, qualified school counsellors and full time School Nurse provide further layers of care. We take mental health seriously and work hard to ensure every pupil has access to the right help at the right time.

Open Conversation, Always
Reflections
Our Reflections programme, dedicated PSHE time, covers wellbeing, relationships, online life, mental health, identity and the ethical questions young people face. It is one of the most valued parts of school life at Kneller Hall School.
Support for every learner
Learning Support Centre
We are an academic mainstream school providing a supportive environment for all our pupils and we are committed to helping everyone who is able to access our curriculum, including those who may need extra help to make the most of their talents.
A pupil may have a medical condition or a mild learning difficulty such as dyslexia or dyspraxia or who may just need some additional help with organisation or time management skills.
We have a dedicated Learning Support Department who offer support and guidance to pupils. They seek to identify pupils with a discrepancy between academic achievement and attainment in order to help them to achieve the results of which they are capable.
The school ensures that reasonable adjustments are made within the classroom and that the relevant access arrangements are put in place for pupils who need it for internal and external examinations in line with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations.
For further information regarding access arrangements for prospective pupils with a special educational need or disability, please speak with our admissions team.
Keeping Our Community Safe
Safeguarding
The safety of every student is our highest priority. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead and wider safeguarding team ensure that robust, proactive systems are in place, all staff are regularly trained, and our culture prioritises every student’s welfare above all else.
